Why Highlights Are Worth Saving
Most people think of Highlights as leftovers — old Stories a creator could not bear to delete. In practice they are the opposite. Highlights are the only part of a profile the owner has deliberately curated for permanence, which means they concentrate the content that account considers most valuable: product explainers, pricing breakdowns, before-and-afters, customer testimonials, FAQ answers that would otherwise be repeated in a hundred DMs.
That makes them the highest-signal part of any profile for research, and the part most likely to be quietly edited or removed once a brand changes direction. If a Highlight is useful to you, saving it is the sensible move — profiles get restructured, accounts get deleted, and creators reorganize their pinned sets far more often than you would expect.
What Screen Recording Costs You
Recording your screen is the default workaround and it degrades the file in several ways at once. You capture at your display's resolution rather than the upload's, so a 1080p video becomes whatever your phone panel renders. The progress bar, the account name, the reply box and the tap zones all end up burned into the frame. Audio routes through the system mixer and often desyncs by a fraction of a second. And on a long Highlight you have to sit through every slide in real time.
